Profiles & Awards¶
MeshMapper recognizes community contributors through a Profiles & Awards system. Every companion device/user that participates in wardriving gets a profile, and awards are granted automatically for milestones or manually by administrators for special contributions.
Viewing Profiles¶
You can view anyone's profile by clicking their name on a regional or global leaderboard. Leaderboards also have a Profiles button in the header. Its search box lets you "Search by name or Public ID".
The profile card shows All Time, This Week, Grid Squares and First Pings stats, along with any awards.
- A device linked to a My MeshMapper account shows the account's display name.
- A deleted device that nobody has claimed shows as "Orphaned device" and doesn't appear in search.
Users¶
If you run more than one companion, link them all to your My MeshMapper account. They then show as one entry on the leaderboards, and your profile shows the combined totals.
Manage Your Own Profile & Data¶
Wardrivers can create an account on the My MeshMapper portal, link their companion devices, set the display name shown on leaderboards, and view or delete their data. If you connect Discord, you can show your Discord avatar on leaderboards and your profile. Editing your own bio is not available yet.
Awards¶
Awards are visual badges displayed on a companion's profile. They come in two types:
Automatic Awards¶
These are granted automatically by the system based on wardriving milestones:
| Award | Criteria |
|---|---|
| Wardriver | Any wardriving contribution (at least 1 data point) |
| 1000 Data Points | Accumulate 1,000 or more all-time points |
| 5000 Data Points | Accumulate 5,000 or more all-time points |
| 10000 Data Points | Accumulate 10,000 or more all-time points |
| 50000 Data Points | Accumulate 50,000 or more all-time points |
| Ping Leader | Rank #1 on a regional leaderboard. Anonymous players are skipped, so it goes to the next real #1. |
| Explorer 1 | Ping in 1,000 or more different grid squares |
| Explorer 2 | Ping in 5,000 or more different grid squares |
| Explorer 3 | Ping in 10,000 or more different grid squares |
| Pioneer 1 | Be first to ping 500 or more grid squares |
| Pioneer 2 | Be first to ping 1,000 or more grid squares |
| Pioneer 3 | Be first to ping 2,500 or more grid squares |
| Airtime Saver | 250 or more verified squares where Smart Pinging held a ping |
| Airtime God | 2,500 or more verified squares where Smart Pinging held a ping |
| Airtime Legend | 10,000 or more verified squares where Smart Pinging held a ping |
| Global Leader | Rank in the top 10 of a global leaderboard: All Time Legends, Top Wardrivers (7 Days), or Top Pioneers. |
- Companions in Anonymous Mode can still earn milestone awards, but not Ping Leader or Global Leader.
- Awards are never removed automatically, so Ping Leader and Global Leader stay after you drop out of first place or the top 10.
Update Interval
Stats and automatic awards update once a day. If you've earned an award but don't see it yet, check back tomorrow.
